Ah, so it's more a Chrome feature than a Google (Search) feature. Chrome is parsing the URL for that bookmark and responding accordingly - it's basically dynamic bookmark creation, with custom styling. Seems like a nice idea, could make a cool standard.

Pretty neat way of implementing this without compromising security imo. It would be nice to see this on other browsers as well since it could make finding shared text snippets much easier for the person receiving it outside of Google.

No, there's no distinction. First, because computers shouldn't substitute humans when we are talking about decisions that can have death consequences, like driving for example. Second, because arguing that autonomous cars are about saving lives is false (they are about big data business and big data life control).

In conclusion, it's what I said in my post: You can choose a Terminator world. I choose freedom instead. The eerie thing is not only that some sci-fi movies are becoming real, but that they also predicted that it would be people in themselves who would vote technology to substitute them. It's like people are wishing to stop being people, preferring computers to decide if they should die in an accident. Sad... and quite eerie that some movies predicted this would happen.
I have no problem with a Terminator world. You can throw away all your computing devices, eschew electricity and go back to the stone age. It's an individual preference.

But imo, you contradicted yourself by saying "there's no distinction", followed by "computers....death consequences".

So there really is a distinction between some display of pictures and a car having total control.

Seems like it could be done with plugins pretty easily, wouldn’t be surprised if we see them pop up pretty soon!

Come to think of it, you could probably do this with a one line GreaseMonkey script. I might look into that tomorrow...

Out of topic: why the hell it takes forever to make a dark theme for search result, Google ?

Are we going to pretend like AMP didn’t make the web faster?

Depends what you mean by 'faster' I guess. I find it to have a bad enough UX that the first thing I do when I get to an AMP page is click the button to reload the real page, so it actually makes the web twice as slow as it was before.

^This. Actually, our current tragedy is that the people who used to repeat the "freedom" word over and over, are actually pushing in the opposite: a Terminator world, where people are no longer free individuals, but with their choices controlled by a system "for the good of the community" (but decided by an elite). That's not freedom, but totalitarianism. And, actually, when somebody or some group boast the "freedom" word over and over it usually means that they fight for the opposite.

You can see how google is manipulating information and if it bothers one, write your own search engine so one doesn't have to be a slave to someone else's technology. I split my searches between bing, google and duckduckago.
