“Double tap to the back of the head. Very professional.”

— Jack Ryan, “Patriot Games”

And the letter “e” on the keyboard can dial your mom on the phone.

To be fair, you could put short cuts on the BlackBerry Priv physical keyboard that meant holding e would perform a particular function or short cut... 😂

It was amazingly useful!

It seems like it could have a use but why don't Google just focus on making the Adaptive Edge feature more flexible. I like the squeeze-to-activate feature but am not really that bothered about it opening my Google Assistant. It would be a lot more useful if Google opened up this feature to different functions - squeeze to open camera etc.

I'm on the 4XL but also hugely miss the rear finger print scanner of my Pixel 2 - the swipe-to-read-notifications feature on the finger print scanner was hugely useful.

lol.. double tap.. It was more convenient with NFC. Having optios in the menu, or a switch on the side to silence calls is still better. I'd be trying to feel where the "tap" would even be

I have the iPhone XR and messing around with a work provided Pixel 3XL and I’ll at least give it to them for trying something different/new.

Android 10 is actually pretty nice. If there were something like a Samsung device and just Android with no custom rom I’d jump ship...

I recall stories of how people used to load stock Android images into Android phones that had started out gummed up with extra software. Is that not still a thing?

Dear Google,

Please stop making hardware and developing hardware specific features. You are good at software, please innovate in that direction rather than wasting resources on the hardware front!

Software.
That’s just not practical at all. Most people solely adjust their volume via buttons. To have to look at your phone every time you want to change the volume is complete nonsensical.

So we can't have an option? A toggle? if they want the camera to be a big feature then make it one.

Maybe...I wonder if they tried some of these things in Betas or smaller invite only Betas if I would still be though.
I’m sure most Tech companies try all sorts of different approaches. They probably have a ton of prototypes sitting in the drawers with differently working OS solutions. Apple seems to be the company with best long term plan at the moment. Considering how slowly their OS evolves and how popular it is. It really does appeal to
The masses, because of its no fuss approach (and shiny gadgets:)).
