Right, so I've read a few threads on here and a few other forums about the bullsh*te surrounding the pain-in-the-arse that was Google Desktop, I've tried the solution that seemed to work for most people (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/634221/) but to no avail.
I've even tried downloading, reinstalling and uninstalling GoogleDesktop but I still have a process called googledesktopdae, which I can see in Activity Monitor, constantly running and sometimes using 94-97% of my CPU capacity.
The process seems to pick up (from 5-6% to 80-97%) after coming out of sleep.
This is pretty annoying, but I s'pose it's my fault for not uninstalling properly when I got rid of Google Desktop the first time.
I'm running 10.5.8 on a mid 2009 Macbook Pro.
Any ideas?
