I said it earlier but to be fair some may have missed it. I do not own AI glasses, but I also think the fear mongering and paranoia surrounding them has gotten insane.

It's a desire for some balance on privacy, courtesy and respect for others.

It's not "fear mongering" or "paranoia".

Far too much of tech has turned into "I want to do X and who cares about any externalities or what anyone else may think. What's important is what I want".

Technology itself is rarely the issue, but rather how it's deployed, restricted and ultimately just designed from the ground up and with what priorities in mind.

Do you ask these questions about Apple Maps/Google Maps or is just the glasses that you are biased against?
Products sometimes have unpredicted consequences that are a bit like "unknown unknowns". But, having seen them now, they have become foreseeable consequences. So, when verbal directions programs (colloquially "GPS" although that is a misnomer) became part of map programs, and, the directions said, "Turn right!" and people turned right onto railroad tracks because the road they wanted was parallel to the tracks on the other side, especially on dark and stormy nights with low visibility, well, many people were surprised. Of course you don't immediately turn right just because something says "turn right". Right?

It is a foreseeable consequence that improperly presented information in a HUD will result in people reacting inappropriately.

I’ve got a pair of Metas and everyone that’s tried them on, heard the speaker quality and try taking a photo/video with them end up being very impressed.

So yeah-the scaremongering is exactly that.

People aren't against them because the tech isn't good (speaker quality, photos, etc).

I'm amazed you would think that's the main argument against them.

I’m aware of the reasons why people might be against them-I’m just saying that when those people (or the people I’ve been in the company of those that have had the reservations) actually see/try them on/use them, those fears go away and think they are pretty cool.

What really happens when you buy these glasses is that you're actually paying and helping them by wearing these glasses and all that data that they crave so much will be stored on all these AI Data Centers and be used against us, the loyal customers who help them get there in the 1st place. What a joke.
