Woah woah woah calm down folks. Clearly this isn't the case of "oh uh everyone makes earbuds, you cant copy that"

There are many earbuds on the market, but it's clear the design language from these buds took heavy cues from Apple. They have no originality. Although I like the black white scheme - that's about it.

This is Google's Standard Operating Procedure - take a successful product and copy it (Apple Watch, Iphone, Ipad, Airpods, Apple Credit Card). And these days, since every product from Apple is usually a hit, companies like google begin the copy print as soon as rumors go around of Apple building a new product. This is no different than a chinese company making knock offs to leach off market share. At least with some companies - I give them credit for creating an original product - not so much with google.

Apple blatantly copying the notifcation bar (which they did) is a far cry from almost a decade of hardware and software theivery schemes from Google.

Although 'Google' is based in the USA - they do not respect american values. (Privacy, Censorship) And being the biggest information network in the world, they use this to influence american (and probably other) elections, and censor information from the internet. When has Apple used it's great wealth and power to do other than good?
BS. All AirPods have stems. Pixel Buds don't. They follow the design language of most other wireless airbuds on the market (Samsung, Jabra etc.). And if you want to compare Google and Apple earbuds then you have to say that Apple followed Google design. Original AirPods had a long stem and were not a sealing type. Google released first Pixel Buds in 2017. They did not have the stems and has a sealing design. Apple followed two years later with AirPods Pro (shorter stems and sealed design).

Google is pathetic. Copying every successful move Apple makes, censoring the internet, and influencing american elections.

Exactly! It’s as if iOS 14 would be rumored to have home screen widgets or something! Or Apple cowtowing to Chinese communist demands to censor their app store or dingle around with Hong Kong! Or influencing social and political concerns, like same-sex marriage or climate change or communal bathrooms or something!

No noise cancelation is a deal breaker for me looks like air pods pro is the way to go for me v

You mean like Apple copied (unsuccessfully) the Echo devices and Google Home?

To be fair, Apple copied the idea of Echo, but not the actual device itself. Apple’s HomePod actually is the first of a new sub-type, then Google quickly copied the new idea and introduced Google Home Max.

So because Apple makes one specifically like that, everyone else should be **** on? But when apple goes and does what the industry does, it’s ok right?

See above.
How about to reply with what you want me to see, you kidding me right now? See what?

Not sure some of the comments in there, google buds are pretty good all things considered. No ANC is certainly a big downside but they seem like a good product for those who are on android and want to stick to their own wireless buds.

Screen widgets? You mean like those in OS X Tiger from 2006? :)

Just like Apple copied the echo and google home? Or how they copied a ton of Android and jailbreak features?
The HomePod was in development much longer than you think, apples approach was sound quality and size, beam forming, loaded horns....and this shows ...
You don’t get this, and keep saying the same thing. As others have stated,
Your thinking is very flawed.
I would never run a google smart home anything, they like selling data, apple does not. As a sound engineer, the sound quality matters as well...
Back to ear buds.
Case is an apple copy, even in color.
Tapping another copy.
It is what it is.
Regardless of what type you choose it’s good to have different options and price points. We as consumers win.
But be real, google is copying what apple does.
In some ways they do a few things better, in other ways they do not.

Google caching up and mimicking some functionality. Using touch hw interface. Passive physical noise separation. Nothing to see here. Move along Apple folks.

Edit: Wait what? Our video host states APP are jammed way further into the ear canal? That maybe unique to him and my ears are tiny (6cm top to earlobe) 2.4cm ear canal cover to outside ear, and I love in-ear headphones ... but the APP don't jam anywhere in my ear canal ... barely sits just outside the opening as designed/intended by Apple.

Googles previous wired headset used touch hw as well, nothing new/not an attempt to catch up.

Google really need to stick to software
And Apple really needs to let an address link open in Google Maps but whatever. Not sure why you’re so mad about this.

I hope you are an Apple employee, if not, you are a whore and deserve to be paid for your brand defense.

I love how they copied the whole Airpods design. It means it is a successful product.

But I don't know why is this permitted. Clearly, they copied the design and probably a patent.
Yeah Apple should definitely sue them.
I would love to see how such a trial would go, I suspect it will be pure comedy.

Apple: We invented wireless earbuds, everybody that launches wireless earbuds is just copying us.
PS. We also invented the rectangular shape.

I bought the original Pixelbuds and they were awful on both iOS and Android.

Weird clicking between tracks and the touch interface made it impossible to try to move the buds into a comfortable position without changing tracks or summoning the assistant.

Don't know how they made it through quality checking.

Have to love how the “real time language translation” feature of this product is given passing mention like it’s no big deal. Hey Apple, when will Siri have anything comparable for AirPods?

Boring copy in Chinese style. But: I find the real-time translation thing quite interesting.

Apple already wanted to integrate it into their Pros, but the results were of course still very unsatisfactory.
How Google now manages to translate languages worldwide in 'real-time' (e.g. Chinese into Indian or French or British into Italian) is a mystery to me. You have been dreaming this dream in vain for 200 years.
Every interpreter will shake his head in surprise.

Or is this just a tiny beta release? Or just an advertising claim?

Last but not least: Who would like to give Google a voice print and private conversation as a present? Not me.
总有很多人想进来听

are apple shills getting desperate? Google copied the airpods here? wow, it's tampons vs mentos.

they copied the case because it's white? damn you guys really go as far as that trump supporter that wrote on Facebook that its good Obama isn't president right now because "how could he afford to pay every American 1200 bucks stimulus since he isn't a billionaire" lol

Did Apple copy the gear icon X then?

Or doesn’t it count when Apple release a product after the competition.

Didn’t the Sonos speakers with Alexa come out before the HomePod? They are high quality speakers with a smart assistant.

Samsung: Excuse me we actually released our wireless gear icon X buds on July 15th 2016. Before Apple even got on stage and showed off their first generation AirPods. But we aren’t claiming credit for this because we know there were wireless earbuds with charging cases out even before we brought out gear icon X.

It is safe to assume that the pixel buds case would not exist in that form if it was not for Apple Airpods. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the pixel buds did not exist in this form at all if it wasn't for Apple Airpods popularizing wireless headphones.
