Update went fine...but now my battery life is horrid. I'm talking a significant drop in battery at night while it's in Airplane mode. (I switch Airplane mode on if it isn't on charger at night.) Last night it dropped nearly 25% overnight...From about 79% to 57%

It's confusing because there shouldn't be anything happening while in Airplane mode, right?

I just repaired with my phone, but if that doesn't fix it is there any known way to downgrade to 3.1?

I have 3.1.1 as well but my battery life is great.

It's not the update; it's some other kind of unrelated bug. 3.1.1 as it is barely changed anything.

I think repairing helped. Took off the charger about 9:00Pm last night, only dropped to 97% overnight. Must need to re-pair after update.

I have a first gen Apple Watch upgraded to 3.1.1 and I definitely have seen a decrease in battery life. Not only have a unpaired then repaired, I also set up the watch as new and deleted data in the health app for good measure.

I used to end the day in the 60% range, now it's more like 50% or lower. My coworker has a second gen and with the same activity (most times more as he uses dictation often and I don't) his battery life is much better even though he starts his day an hour earlier than I do.

So, yes, it IS the update.

(I know the second gen has a better battery)

I updated my OS last night and have 3.1. Was 3.1.1 a newer version and did they pull it because it had a lot of bugs?

They pulled it because it crashed some people's watches.

Glad I'm not the only one that was seeing it.

I managed to download 3.1.1 to my phone prior to it getting pulled, but before I upgraded my watch. Now I can't upgrade my watch, and the little red 1 (one) won't go away on my phone.

What you should do is call Apple and see if they're willing to repair it under warranty (if it's under a year old). They usually just send you a new one. This will work great if you have any small scratches on the screen or case that bug you, you'll basically be getting a new watch. 😉

Which generation watch do you have?

This is why Apple pulled it. If the watch is working then eventually Apple should issue a new update that hopefully remove the red 1 on your phone.

My Series 1 is just fine with the 'borked' 3.1.1.
I'm at 98% (the second before I took the screenshot the percentage was at 99, lol) with 31 minutes of usage and 3 hours of stand by.

Ditto this side. No major problems - Series 2.

I did a re-pair it though, since something was going wonky with the Stand measurements - but I suspect that could be due to interference from a sleep-tracking device. But battery life on 3.1.1 has been fine all through. Obviously a case of YMMV...
