After a few weeks of having my 2017 TB MBP I started getting some sticky keys which I had to remove and clean, and I feared the same happening to the spacebar which is non-removable so I did some research and picked up one of these.. it's a thin keyboard protector and will stop all sorts of dust, crumbs and grime from getting under the keys.

I had a similar cheapo one for my 2016 mbp and it ended up getting loose/out of place over time and was very soft so this time wanted to spend a bit more money on something higher quality.

This one on the other hand is precision cut, VERY thin and also comes with some adhesive on the corner keys to keep it held in place. It's FANTASTIC! I highly recommend it to everyone with these new temperamental MBP's who's keyboards fail if the smallest bit of dust gets underneath. It'll give you that piece of mind! The keyboard feels a little different after you put it on, but you adjust VERY quickly! Pick one up, you wont regret it.

Be sure to go for the mediadevil one, as the other lookalikes may have the problems I mentioned above that I had with the cheap version I got last year!

Nice suggestion but not for me. It's like those 80s American films where the parents always had plastic covers over their leather sofas. What's the point of having a leather sofa if you only ever sit on horrible plastic!? I like the feel of my keyboard, I would prefer cleaning it now and again or even replacing it eventually than keeping it perfect and never using it as intended.

Fair point, but I'd rather this than a costly/time-consuming trip to the Apple store to get the whole bottom portion of the mac replaced because gunk and dust has rendered keys useless.

It's not for everyone I suppose.
