Well, the MacBook showed up, and it's brand new. Really happy with it so far. I am just trying to figure out how to make the move to iOS from Android and windows.
awesome, definitely a great deal for a brand new m1, still a beast of a little machine

Congrats, that is a great price! You will be shocked at how well the M1 works--especially battery life.

This isn't the worst idea. I'm already fond of the wedge-shaped design, so it could serve as a temporary machine for me if I choose to sell my 14" MacBook Pro over PWM headaches.

You can find a base model M1 air for $799 or less and for that price it would be an excellent stop gap until you could find a M series MBP to serve your needs. I have even seen the M2 13" MBP base model on sale for around $1000 on Bestbuy new. Might be another idea for a stop gap. I had an M1 13" MBP before I got my 14 then 16" M1 MBP and I actually missed it. Battery life is really good.

Anyway an older Gen m series air or pro are often discounted and still have great performance until you can make the jump to a Pro model that will be gentler on your eyes!
