So i got new headunit today in my car and it had an ipod hookup. Naturally i plugged my iphone in (it had one of those bottom connectors, not the headphone.) When i plugged it in the iphone popped up and said this isn't made for iphone do u want to go into airplane mode etc. I clicked no then played a song or two off my iphone to see if it would work. It did, so i disconnected my iphone. then when i went to turn bluetooth off, my iphone froze, crashed, and now tells me i cant make/receive calls and to go to the apple store to get it fixed.

Going to the apple store isnt an easy thing for me, so is there anyway i can fix it without going to the apple store? And i did try a restore and it told me it couldnt be restored. Am i SOL? or can it be saved?

Was the head unit properly grounded?

It may just be a bad sim card, which you can get one or two a year for free from ATT.

The iPhone actually said "and now tells me i cant make/receive calls and to go to the apple store to get it fixed"?
Anyway, Tweeter should be held responsible to be honest with you. Unless you never told them you'd be hooking up an iPhone.

no they knew i had an iphone because one of the sales reps, (not the one who did the install,) also had an iphone and was telling me what I needed to get the setup I desired. My iphone isn't dead yet, i guess i'll just go to the store tomorrow and i'll have to see what i can do
