I have Verizon. If I buy the phone at the apple store, will they open the box or can I take it home, open it myself, then activate it myself?

They will need to open and activate it there.

I've never had to open an iPhone in an Apple Store (every iPhone since the original). I've always just taken it home sealed and plugged it into iTunes for activation.

It doesn't have to be opened in the store. I bought two on launch day. I opened mine at the store, but took the other one home - it was for my dad. He opened it at home, and got it all activated via iTunes.

    Wow

    Just wow.

    Wow again.

    Just go get your phone.

(or ask the REAL question you are asking)
