I'm in the process of syncing my iPhoto library to my new iPad (sync process is halfway done), and everything showing up looks terrible; very blurry, clearly downscaled, and even photos that I took on my iPhone that came over in the Photo Stream look visibly much worse (in terms of artifacts, blurriness) compared to the ones on my iPhone.

What's going on here? Is iTunes downscaling everything horribly?

I don't have an answer I'm afraid but I hope somebody does because I've just synched my wife's photos from her MacBook Pro to her new iPad 3 and we have exactly the same problem!!

Very strange!

Just had another look at the photos and they are fantastic now!

Maybe they were still being processed by the iPad when I first looked at them! I had only just performed the sync when I first looked.
