well yes it can you just have to downgrade the firmware to 1.1.1 and install the oktoprep its a pain use modmyifone.com

My friend did this with his phone in the last 2 weeks, so you will be good to go. Your GF will love you more if you give her a phone thats not the boreing out of the box model.
