I would get the Air 2. Even with the vibration and some screen distortion, it's much more tolerable over the RAM choked Air 1 !

hows the ipad mini 2 with LTE or ipad mini 3 with LTE

The Mini 3 is a just a Mini 2 with TouchID. Not really worth the upgrade if you see how much faster the Air 2 is.

I had the Air 1 and upgraded to the Air 2. I think it is well worth the additional price. Yes, it does vibrate with sound which doesn't bother me and I can produce screen distortion but only if I press on the back, never in normal use (which has been reported rarely here). The sound is much improved over the Air 1. I have never heard crackling and while reported I don't think it is a widespread occurrence like the vibration and distortion. I love how light, thin and fast it is. Also there are a lot of complaints about quality control here. Quality Control is what it is and not likely to change in my opinion. The customer service however is great and you can return or exchange the iPad for any reason in the 1st 2 weeks after purchase if you are unhappy with it. Good luck with your decision. I don't think the model matters re the above issues, but I have the WiFi only, 64 GB, Space Gray.

The iPad Air 2 is the first iPad you can use on any network I believe which that alone is a good reason to get it . This way your not tied down to nay network . I went from t-mobile to Verizon and with no hassle

Most of the LTE iPads have been unlocked for use on any network. I have used my 3rd Gen, Mini, Air, and rMini on T-Mobile. They were all purchased as either ATT or Verizon models.

I bought the ipad air 2 last week, also upgrading from the air 1. I only bought it as I wanted more storage as my air 1 only had 32GB so I got the air 2 in 128GB. The thing that impressed and suprised me the most was the improved screen quality. Maybe it's the lamination or the anti reflectivity but the screen is much improved over my air 1. Colours seem richer.

I've not had any of the problems either. My speakers do vibrate but not too much to bother me. I haven't encountered the screen distortion problem.

I think it's well worth the upgrade.
