I'm just shocked that after all the UK and Asia press bashing the iPhone because "Europe and Asia already have way more advanced phones than those in North America", the lines are still enormous and it seems to be selling just as well as it did here in the good old facist US of A.

Activation took about 15 seconds for me, transferring from a current 02 contract... this thing is genius.

Hmm so if you already have an O2 contract you can just switch it over to the iPhone then?

Just got back from Bentalls Centre in Kingston. :p

Plugged it into my Mac Pro and 2 minutes later — OK — 3 minutes.

I am activated! New O2 account.

Does anyone think it's thinner than the US version (there was a guy in the queue with an unlocked version and he reckoned it was) ??

i've been told my activation request is being 'reviewed' which has annoyed my considerably....i've used my mums details to be on the safe side as well.....so at the minute ive got a very expensive paper weight.....it is a very beautiful one though.....

to update....after speaking to o2 the problem was rectified and it is now happilly filling itself with music and video.....i'm happy now:)

I turned up at the Birkenhead o2 store at 5pm, queued with 4-12 people until opening time, was in and out in 10 mins. Activating was so smooth, transferring my current o2 number took minutes.

Overall I'm pretty amazed with it, browsing is actually a better experience than on my nokia n800 Internet Tablet! Typing is much better than I thought too, auto correction is pretty astonishing.

No, not quite it... the silencer switch on the side doesn't work properly, going to have to replace the phone. Damn.
