If you're talking about the old school grey apple mouse pads, don't use it. Those things are pretty bad with optical mice, due to their lack of color.

You don't have to put much thought into getting a mousepad. Go to Best Buy and get what looks good/has some patterns. When I'm mousin' (not often after I got used to the trackpad) I just use a generic one with a raindrop pattern. Because of the blue gradient, it never jumps around.

As a poster said above, check out sidetrack for sure. You can find it by searching at versiontracker.com. Enjoy!

Try pressing f9, f10, f11. It will come in very very handy.
for switching between a program's windows, you can always use
command+` much in the same way you use command+tab to switch apps.
It's a bit quicker than exposé if you're just going between two windows.

try setting up the active screen corners......its a bless!! (go to System preferences, and to exposé, and assign an exposé command whichever you like (f9, f10, f11) to a determined corner of the screen and, you'll find bliss and happiness!

trust me......this thing's even better than the windows taskbar......... :D :D

that was good if my lousy mouse didn't jump to the corner of the screen and activate expose. i'm using my old cordless logitech mx now and it doesn't jump.didn't know that there is such a great difference between a good and a lousy mouse. ;)
