I received my new IPad Pro 12.9 512gb yesterday. It took awhile for me to decide to do this but I finally got it. I also got the Smart Keyboard and the Pencil. It was a deal I couldn’t pass up. Bought it through Military Exchange sales. With discounts, sale price, no tax and free shipping I essentially got the keyboard and pencil free!!
Having said that, I have a couple questions.
1. GMail. I use the GMail app from the App Store. GMail is for my personal stuff. I use the built in email app for business (Exchange) and ICloud mail. The issue I have is GMail shows up in both apps and I end up with duplicate emails. It is not causing any functional problems but is annoying. How do I delete GMail from the built in email app?

2. On the keyboard there are two keys I’m not sure what they do. The “Option” key and the “Control” key. I found help online for the command key but no luck with the other two.

Please understand I am fairly new to iOS. I never owned or used any Apple products until last December. That’s when my wife bought me and IPhone 7 Plus. Ive been a long time Android/Palm device user.

I appreciate any help with these questions and if anyone has other tips for me, please post them here.

If you don’t want the Mail app to access your gmail account, go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords > select Gmail from the list of email accounts > select Delete Account.

Thank you TinyChip. I went to those settings and deselected GMail only. I still use Contacts and calendar. It works fine now.

I love my 12.9 gen 2

My 9.7 pro collects dust 95% of the time now, even jailbroken

It’s replaced a lot of casual 13” nTB use for me too

If you hold down the command key, it should show keyboard shortcuts available in some of the apps which may have the option and control key as a shortcut.

Thank you. I found some help online for the command key. It works quite well. I would like to be able to scroll through each app on the home screens and be click to select what I wanted to open. Command and Tab will pop up a list of previously opened apps and you can select from there. Basically it pops up the dock. This was an option on my Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet.

Congrats and enjoy your new baby. The 12.9 iPad is certainly a site to behold :)
It is a beauty. Moved up from Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet. It was a workhorse but it was slowing down. No more updates and battery issues was making it hard to depend on. Very impressed with the speed and display of the iPad Pro. This is my everything computer. I don’t have or need a desktop or laptop. The iPad works perfect for my personal and business needs.

jealous?

why don't you build enough value that people will pay you so you can afford those things ?
I think the point they were making was that you’re not getting any use out of it if it’s collecting dust 95% of the time so why have it. Unless you bought it solely to look at it dusty in some corner. In which case, more power to ya
