Lovely. I have a max spec 6,1 as well and they are still gorgeous looking machines and pretty fast for a lot of things.

That said I use the 7,1 for most things now.

did you do any upgrades yourself?

I was considering it, it's only the 6 core, d500, 256gb and 16gb RAM. but still nippy for my use case, just internet, Spotify, email and that sort of stuff.

OWC has some really tempting options. The last thing i need is another project. But would love one for my collection. lol

I got my Mac Pro from a retail chain in the UK called CEX.

I installed the other day, my Samsung NVME ssd and 64gb RAM.

was also having cursor issues but I now am using a wired mouse and seems to have helped...I wonder if there was some sort of interference with the dongle on the wireless mouse.

also upgraded to Sonoma, took me like 2-3 hours to do it all lol, but got there in the end!

I think i remember reading your post at work, briefly. I haven't taken the Opencore jump yet. Would love to know the spec's of your 6,1 ?

Sorry I had not seen your reply earlier.

I upgraded from:

Xeon 12 core 2.4ghz to 12 core 2.7ghz

Other than that mine was already maximum specs. I could do 128gb RAM but that’s not faster or optimum.

I don’t know what the original owner used it for but it must have cost him a fortune new.
