You're going to be having some facepalm fun if something goes wrong with the MP 😛 I would have kept the G5 for at least 2 weeks.

Well, unlike the G5, the Mac Pro has never really ramped up the fans audibly. Not so far, anyway. That said, I'd say the standard level of fan noise is maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the level of the G5 at "idle."

One of the tests they did on Barefeats was to max the CPUs, memory and hard disks for an hour. Fans never went above idle. These MacPros are just AMAZING pieces of engineering.

I'll get the stock "PC" X1900 XT from a friend
