Got new apple battery for my MBP... what now?

Just got my new apple battery for my 2009 13" mbp.



After i install it what should i do? reset pram/smc and let the battery die out and charge it to calibrate?

Just use your computer.

At most, it would be good to calibrate the battery. That doesn't involve a PRAM/SMC reset though.

PRAM/NVRAM has nothing to do with battery/power/charging issues. Resetting it will not help. Only resetting the SMC addresses such issues, but it's not necessary to reset it unless you're having specific problems.

At most, it would be good to calibrate the battery.

The built-in batteries in the newer Mac unibody notebooks come pre-calibrated and do not require regular calibration like the removable batteries.

You'll note I linked him to the same article, and as the MBP's with the built-in batteries did not come out until Late 2009, I wasn't sure which model he had.
