i just got some ram off of ebay and i put it in my imac and sadly it didnt work and i was wondering if i got the wrong ram or if this maybe doa. thank you for your help below is the ram specs.

Depends on what G4 iMac. Do a google search for iMac G4 Ram and a bunch of sites with good info will pop up. But it can be a little tricky to get it seated correctly. Did you make sure it was pushed all the way in and the connectors on both sides snapped forward?

Yeah, if you have the 1Ghz or above model, it uses DDR 333. Otherwise the PC133 should work.
 
Macs (and most older desktop computers) can only use "low density" SDRAM. High density RAM is used in servers a majority of the time. Sadly ebay sellers don't mention this in their item descriptions.
 
thank you all for your help. the high density thing i didnt know if it would work or not. darnit o well i guess i need to find some more ram to buy at least this ram was only 9 bucks. lol thank you all again.
