How'd the MicroCell make reception worse?

when it was connected to microcell it showed full bars but hangs up where it says its calling the contact. i troubleshooted the microcell and couldn't get it to dial out. i disconect my my microcell and i didn't have a signal at my house.

it worked fine for the first 2 weeks i got it.

well then you'd be wrong. because it did make it worse..

So, it didn't make it worse, you either just broke it, lost internet connection or didn't set it up properly in your home network and after 2wks you called it quits when it still was on warranty....

If what you are saying of 'making it worse' is that after you disconnected the micro-cell you lost the little signal you had left at your home before the micro-cell, then the most likely culprit here is your phone and not anything else. Did you test this 'theory' w/ other phones?

huh by making it worse i mean when it was connected to microcell a call could not go through period. yes it worked fine for the first 2 weeks. my home internet is fine all lights where fine on the microcell but i did try rebooting microcell i tried removing phone and putting it back on.

as i said in earlier posts friends come over that are on att and don't get signal either. it is not phone.

idk why i posted i guess i gonna miss my iphone and won't have a need to post in this topic anymore.:(

I know why. It is the same reason you post your 3 computers and even the phone you no longer use in your signature. You are desperately seeking attention and it seems you find conversing online easier than in real life. Go outside, unplug and sweat.

Are you sure you didn't just block the transmission in the settings of the microcell or something?

If it was defective after just 15days, why didn't you just exchange it for a new one or something?

"Q. What is the warranty on the AT&T 3G MicroCell device?
A. AT&T 3G MicroCell has a 12-month limited warranty."

Yes, I understand that AT&T coverage in you house is bad, but I'm asking if you tested the micro-cell problem w/ your friends phones also?

... i couldn't make or receive any calls at my house. it would work fine as soon as i left my house. i tried a microcell and that made it worse.
How could the microcell make it worse if you already couldn't make a call? I smell troll...

No i didn't block the transmission settings.

no i didn't check friends phones on my microcell.
i didn't even know till my work said they where trying to get a hold of my for 2 days and the calls where just going to voicemail after first ring. that is when i tried fixing it. then they told me they would take care of my phone service so i stoped trying to fix it.

1. I agree with the OP. I switched to verizon to the droid x and do not miss AT&T or my iPhone 4 at all.

2. Why do all these people comment on threads when they have nothing constructive to say besides smart ass remarks. Move on if you can't intelligently contribute to a DISCUSSION on a DISCUSSION forum!

This is really a "Got rid of AT&T" thread rather than a "Got rid of iPhone" thread.

Verizon has great service and coverage. Welcome to the Big Red! Droid X is a good choice too.

A lot of people are butt-hurt that you had to get rid of your iphone.

I guess they don't like hearing anything bad about their favorite device

I think you gave up too soon, but oh well. If the MC improved the signal, then it was working. If the phone couldn't hold a call, you should have at least tried an exchange,

let me start by i am not a troll. i have had every version of iphone. i switched last week to verizon and got a driod. i really do miss my iphone and everything it can do. i finally had it last week when i couldn't make or receive any calls at my house. it would work fine as soon as i left my house. i tried a microcell and that made it worse. but the nice thing is i use to drop calls a few times a day and since going to verizon not one droped call. so i will join the when is iphone coming to verizon bandwagon. because i know my issues are with at&t and not the iphone. ok let the flaming start

The issues are because of the crappy under-equipped networks in the USA still using the old CDMA technology which Australia got rid of 10 years ago. Here in Australia my iPhone 4 does not drop out and does not have the signal issue even when bridging the gap. You American's need to dump the old technology and get with the 21st century as Australia has done. Australia has the fastest mobile network technology in the world.
