Got the iPhone 13 Pro Max -- can't pair my watch!

Hey guys,

Any idea how I can pair my watch with my new iPhone 13 Pro Max?

Apparently there is a host of pairing issues right now. Mostly what I've seen were that people can't get "Unlock with Apple Watch" to work, but you're saying your watch won't pair at all, even just normally?

correct, Series 7....

all my saved passwords are gone too....and I used my iCloud backup, really frustrating!

I had a heck of a time pairing my Apple Watch. I had used Quick Start and it somehow got unpaired from my old iphone yet couldn’t connect on my new iPhone to pair.

Ultimately, I had to reset / unpair directly on the Apple Watch itself and then setup on the new iPhone as a new watch.

Had to do the exact same thing. The pairing process got stuck, new phone says an error occurred and I had to force restart the watch. After that, it was not paired to the old iPhone or the new one. Currently in the process as pairing as a new watch …

Had exactly the same thing. Transferred to new phone and it failed halfway, wouldn't connect to either phone but still claimed to be paired to the old one.

Had to unpair on old phone, completely erase on watch and then pair as new watch on new phone. Luckily once I had committed to going completely new it offered me the chance to restore a backup, last one I had was yesterday so did that and finally I'm back up and running.

Likewise with the other forum members who eventually found success, I did a reset wipe and restore. It took me 3.5 hours in trying to figure it out by playing with different settings, as I knew a full restore was going to be a pain in the padded ass and that was my last resort. I was terrified of bricking my WATCH (we’ve all heard the horror stories) so I wanted to take my time and be methodical.

I’m having the same issue! I’m thinking it’s because I have the beta software on the watch, and I should’ve deleted the profile and went to the Public release version - like I did with my iPhone the night before I got the iPhone 13.

I’m able to get text messages through it, but maybe that’s because it’s connected to cell?


Looks like I may have to reset as well. I’m hoping to not lose everything, it should restore to last backup right?

This. I can pair my watch with no problem but I can’t activate watch unlock.

This is for unlocking your iPhone with the Apple Watch, we are saying we cannot pair our watches with iPhone 13.
