I got a chance to play with an iPad 2 yesterday running iOS 4. I will say it ran the OS fairly snappy but today's websites really slow it down . I didn't think the Internet would have that much of an impact but it did. Not every website slowed it down but Engadget, CNET and few others did. It was my sister's iPad who refuses to update the Apps and or iOS . It does everything she needs it to so why update . You could argue for security reasons for sure but she does not do anything that is information sensitive on it . Just interesting to see how the iPad 2 would hold up running iOS 4 today.

It would be interesting to poll ipad2 owners as to what ios version their iPad 2 is currently running.

My ipad2 is on 7.12 (and JB)...the only thing I wish I had put on this was iheartradio - apparently now, it needs to be on iOS8. I do have Pandora with skip tweak... so I get by. (If anyone knows of something else that would allow me to listen to radio stations, I'd love to know,)

Tunein Radio, that's the one I use

Has anyone tried one of the ad/content-blockers on iOS 9? Would be interesting to see how much (if at all) this improves web performance on older devices.

Apple says:

"Apps containing content blocking extensions for Safari on iOS are available only on 64-bit devices, due to performance limitations of 32-bit devices."

I updated my Uncle's iPad 2 from iOS 4.3 to iOS 8.4.1 over the summer. It was weird to see how much iOS has changed since. I even went under setting to check for updates and remembered that a computer free update didn't happen until iOS 5.
