So recently I have been lurking on eBay buying 'broken' Minis, most of which are simply missing hard drives or have faulty RAM. I have been pretty good with the 2009 Minis...but recently I bought a bunch of 2010s that were deemed 'working, missing hard drives'. I am pretty familiar with the unibody design, but I have now come across 2 2010s that are missing most of their wiring sockets from people doing crappy jobs removing the hard drives and just ripping out the wiring.

One of the Minis is just missing one socket, the fan. As such everything works except the fan so the Mini runs very hot. Some idiot decided to solder the fan to the board...and leading to blown capacitors. However it still runs fine.

Ultimate question: is there anyway, preferably cheap, to reattach the sockets to the LB? $150+ repair services are out of the question. If not I might be better off selling these back on eBay.

Wiring back to the board? seem not that easy.

but you can wire the fan to usb and attach it on the back,
if you do that, consider a better and more silent third party fan ;)
