In the previous iOS there was the notification center options for Government Alerts, however after being asked today about an amber alert, I notice that I didn't receive the alert and I am unable to find the Government Alerts options. Have they been relocated or taken out?

    Yep. iOS 8.
No idea why they are not there for you.

Perhaps somehow related to the bug that forces my phone to 3G instead of LTE. Who knows... Thanks for the input though.

You're welcome. Maybe re-install and see if they reappear. Hard to tell why they are gone, without adding it's a beta. Weird stuff happens. File a report just in case.

Those government alerts are the type from the president etc, the settings allows for you to turn off AMBER alerts and the local alerts.

I believe this is carrier dependent. It sends you alert via a cell tower, so if your carrier doesn't support the alerts, you don't receive them.

I read that AT&T started supporting this last year I believe.
