GPRS/EDGE settings o2 PAYG

How do I implement the correct GPRS/EDGE settings for a PAYG o2 SIM on the iPhone?

There is no obvious option on the iPhone, 1.1.2
 
there's a guide in the iPhone tips etc forum (can't copy and paste the link because i'm posting from iphone). it says you have to put new files in the phone by ssh. i followed it. no edge though only gprs.
