Hi i have a macpro 3.1 with a GTX 660, stuck in the bottom pci slot. The little arm im meant to pull up to get the card out is stuck under the casing of the card :(

is there any way to get this out without a lot of pain (will an apple shop pul it out for me?)

I want to give the card a dusting (with air) and move it to the second PCI slot for better ventilation.

    thanks

This happened to me once and the only solution was to break this little arm.
You have to be careful not to harm the PCI slot on the motherboard or break the card's motherboard/connector.
Since the card is locked with the metal bracket on the back of your Mac Pro, it is safe.

    Wish you luck.

Did you push the button on the PCIe fan assembly (A) and move it to the left? This moves bar (B) to the left, which in turn unlocks the card.

I have no idea what you mean by "arm meant to pull up to get the card out", unless you mean that bar, in which case you are mistaken about what it does. It locks the card in and you don't touch it at all.

    3,1 doesn't have that assembly

snap the clip off or find a small implement that can reach it

    Welcome back @MacVidCards ;-) I didn't know that, thanks.
So only 1,1 and 2,1 use the PC way on the PCI slots...

Just gently move your fingers over and then under the card towards the leaver and push the little fellow towards you with only one finger (standing, casing on a table and case handles facing north).

Because it's a double wide GTX it's a bit harder to reach and perform this, but just be patient. Good luck!

    Cheers
