GPU throttling on Macbook Pro Retina

I've been suddenly getting throttling on the Iris Pro graphics on macbook pro on both osx and bootcamp. The gpu temperature goes up to 100 C Celsius when doing anything graphics intensive, even if its just for a little while. I checked msi afterburner on bootcamp and the GPU core is underclocking. I'm not getting any cpu throttling though. What seems to be the problem? I opened the bottom hatch on the macbook and I didn't see any dust or anything that could be interfering with performance.
