Does anyone know with confident (perhaps from actually having a setup already) of a Mac PCIe mainstream GPU that supports at least triple display? If not mainstream; than professional series?

I currently have a 2009 MacPro with triple display out of 3 GPUs (nVidia GT120), I would like to recover 2 PCIe back by upgrading to 1 GPU that supports 3 displays and put a USB3.0 and SATA 6G instead.

UPDATE: I was able to remove 1 GPU, and get a miniDisplay -> DVI cable to get 3 displays out of 2 GPUs. Still would like to reduce it down to 1 GPU.

The AMD Radeon HD 5770 and 5870 mac editions have 2 MDP and one dual link DVI port. You can connect three displays to that.
However if apple updates the Mac Pro in the next months then they will also release new GPU's, which are likely to work in the 2009 MP aswell. So id recommend you wait, if you can, and then purchase an up to date card.

Thank you.

Did you actually see 3 active displays to it? I've been reading that some cards only let you use 2 of 3. Like if you use the 2 MDP; the dual-DVI gets disabled?

(I've been waiting for a MacPro refresh for a loooooong time; I hope it comes THIS year)
