I have two displays connected to my MacPro (Ati 5770).
Does OSX split the 1Gb between the two displays, or does it depend what is on each? Is there a Terminal command (or app) which displays this information?
Also, what would work better if I was to upgrade, two 5770's (one display on each) or a 2Gb card (now there are a few more options) with both displays?
I hear two 5770's eat a lot of power!

All video memory is shared for the card, it's not split in half if you're running two monitors. You can get an app called OpenGL Driver Monitor as part of the graphics tools for Xcode that will show you more information about video memory usage.
