I was wondering if there is a way to grab stills from a DVD movie with my Mac.

Thanks

Get Snapz Pro, it can take screen shots of DVD player, do a search on version tracker for it.

so does Apple+Shift+3 (or 4) not work while playing a DVD?

i've never tried.

CMD+shift+3 (or 4) does not work with Apple's DVD Player application. Copyright issues and such. All you'll get is a black screen.

Also you could try a standard screenshot while playing the movie in VLC.

What is VLC ?

I tried 'DVD Capture' and didn't work, just got black pic,
(it said it may not work on mac older then G4).

VLC is a multi codec video player. 🙂

You name it, and it will play.

Though as of recent builds it seems lacking.
