I recently bought my Macbook and with your requirements I cannot see how you thought up that the Macbook Pro would be right for you. On OS X (Mac's Operating System) it handles multiple applications exceedingly well while keeping computer resources 'plenty. In laments terms it can do lots of stuff a windows computer with the same specs couldn't.
Once you buy your Mac you'll be surprised at the speed, design, quality and well everything! I thought for a bit wether I really needed a mac as I could either get a Macbook or a super cool gaming PC/Laptop with flashy lights and swirly gizmos. I'm obviously now typing on the Macbook and regardless of price it's the best choice I've ever made and I'm surprised I didn't make the change earlier!
If you've only ever used Windows computer's than I recommend going down to a local store or using a friends not to see if you like it but to get use to it. Playing with macs for only a few seconds won't give you a good impression and may even leave you disappointed. It's once you get a good sit-down on a mac and you start exploring is where the magic happens. I've had my macbook for two days now and I'm still finding stuff I never knew was there!
Also the Macbook is sure to stick out in design terms with it's beautiful glossy white finish and glowing apple on the lid. Mine has got a few stains already but nothing I can't get off with a bit of cleaner. As for the glossy screen I haven't noticed anything that anybody on here has said about "It hurts your eyes" "Gives you a headache", They're all just big wimps if you ask me!
I may have gone a bit overkill but when you get your mac damn will you be happy!
All the best,
James.
