Grahic cards for MP: ATI Radeon HD4850 ?

Hi,

Do you know if I can just buy any PCI-E 16x graphic card and install it in my (future) Mac pro (for instance, an ATI HD4850 ?)? I am surprised to see some "mac edition" graphic card ?

We'll see a Mac 4870 when the PC 5870 is out. You can use any GPU in Windows and ONLY these seven in OS X:

HD 2600
8800 GT
3870
Quadro 5600
