I have been using a Lacie CRT monitor. I purchased a new Intel 17 inch Imac and have found that images displayed in Photoshop have an exaggerated grain structure to them compared to the same images displayed on my CRT screens. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you at the native/maximum resolution? Have you tried playing around with the calibration settings in the ColorSync Utility? 🙂

I am using a 17" 2GHz C2D iMac in the computer lab at college and images on the screen do not look grainy. Try mad jew's advice, and hopefully that will correct your problem. 🙂

Yeah the resolution is basically the only thing that I can think of. Just use System Preferences, and then select Displays (you probably knew that).
