do u think it will be crowed by 9, i want my shirt :
also how far is it from milton (near blue hills ski area) i heard about 30 mins or so is that about right?

although it would be nice to get the t-shirt i won't wait more than 30 min for it. so i will be there around 9:30 and see how long the lines are. it's probably a bad day to buy a mac that needs ram and a airport card in it. i think about going to the chestnut hill store afterwards and buy the mac there. it should be fairly empty there. that means no waiting time to get the stuff installed.:D

I wont, be there. I may be in chesnut hill buying a new iPod. Yipee. P.S. Cambridgeside has more staff and does a very good and quick job installing extras in store.

Wish I could be there, but alas that's 1000 miles away and it's my son's birthday party weekend. Still, free shirts? I suppose I could do a one-day trip... :D

See this thread for recent experience at last week's The Oaks opening.

The Oaks is a similar suburban regional mall to Burlington (I used to live in Lexington andgo there or Cambridgside) and so I suspect the drill would be similar. Assuming you get there after 9, the wait is going to be about 1 hour. The lines were moving at a pretty good clip to keep up that pace. 30 minutes just ain't going to happen, as youd' have to be in the store at 10 to make it.

There are also more students in the Boston area than here, so more people could actually be camping out early.

have fun y'all!! :)

Getting a T-Shirt for you Katie, would be a good incentive to attend. ;)

Apple Store opening must be really cool events...I've never had one open near enough to me to make the effort to go to one.

I was secretly hoping you meant Burlington VT, which just so happens to be one of my absolute favorite mini-cities in New England.

Sigh. The only thing more fun than going to the east coast would be to score a free limited edition Apple t. Lucky you guys... have fun for us!

i feel your pain, when the walt Whitman store i wasn't really into mac nor did i know about the free shirts... now i know, i can't wait for saturday... What time should i arrive - 8ish?

so is anyone going.......... cause i am, i was thinking of leaving around 7:15 so i'll be their around 8. Do you think its too late, too early, I WANT MY FREE SHIRT. Will the mall be open so we can stand outside the store?

I'll be there with my 5-year-old daughter (she has long blonde hair, I have short dark/grey thinning hair, the beginnings of a beard, and rimless glasses, and I'm 6'2" and ~225lb) around 9 or so. 8-ish is just too early for us to get out of the house and especially too long for her to stand around. ;)

jsw have fun, when they opened in milwaukee and in portland it was a blast, would be great if you meet up with some MR members as well.
