Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with a Macbook that I have in my house. A couple weeks ago, the menubar started to act funny, where parts of it would be semi-transparent (normal), and other parts would appear to be completely transparent. I also have another problem now, where the menubar and desktop have a checkboard-like pattern on them. I've attached a screenshot of the issue.

This seems most likely like a software problem, because it does indeed show up using the screenshot command. Switching to another desktop picture seems to fix the issue.

Has anyone else seem this problem before? Restarting does not solve this issue (it keeps coming back). Thanks

If its just that desktop image thats causing the problem, could it be a corrupted image file?

Could be, I've changed the desktop image now, so I'll see if the issue comes up again.

Well, just checked this laptop again, and the issue is happening with another desktop background too. Here's what's showing up on the menu bar (notice that there are lighter bars of white in the menubar):

Any ideas?
