After installing refurb ATI Radeon 8500 64mb AGP VGA/DVI video card my Sawtooth does not get to desktop but stops at blue color.

Sequence:

- spinning Apple pin-wheel (w/Apple icon showing)
- then hangs (not freeze) but just hangs in the blue
color not reaching desktop

The normal boot sequence w/original 128 Rage card would include the blue color (screen) but reach desktop.

I previously thought, rather referred to this as getting a ''blue screen'' (BSoD) which it may not actually be since the blue color is part of normal boot sequence - pin-wheel - blue color - desktop. Duh, which I just noticed.

Has anyone experienced this issue and/or know of a remedy?

I got the 8500 off ebay from Applemacanix and it's a refurb. And yes, the video card I have is visually identical to the picture. The auction did state that it was a Mac Edition card and it was not stated that the card was flashed or not. I have installed the ati drivers, too. I don't know who did the refurb.

Well, no 8500 currently from that seller.

Refurb item should have warranty / support. The best course of action is to contact whoever providing the warranty.
