Hi All,

My friend just bought a new graphics card, the ATI Radeon 9250 256MB and he gave me his old one. Its a ATI Radeon 7500 64MB DDR.
My current graphics card is a GeForce 2 MX/MX 400 32MB. What my question is, is if i will feel a significant diffrence playing games like gta vice city and warcraft3. Can I play World of Warcraft on this card?
Also is this a good 64MB card?
The pc it will go in is a Pantium 4 1.9ghz, 256MB RAM an windoze xp home.

I have never changed graphics cards before... do you people have any tips for me.

Thx in advance

ps i am hoping to get a power book in february to be a part of the wonderful mac community.

Also my friend lost the cd that game with the card does anyone know where i can get the drivers or any required installation file. I already check ati.com but had no luck. 🙁

i think that the gf2mx is a better chipset..however, 64mb would help out in games like vice city. war3 wouldnt matter so much.
save up a bit and buy a new one, vid cards are dirt cheap at the moment, even over here in aussie.

Sorry for being ignorant, but what does "chipset" mean?

It should be faster, but not fast. The 7000 series is similar to the GF4MX, and 64 is usually better than 32. I'm not sure how well it will play games, check the minimum requirements. Installation is easy, just make sure you don't force it in, but make sure it's in all the way. Drivers are located here. Keep the old card as a backup or sell it on eBay.

The 7500 is only one step down from the 8500 (i.e. ATi's equivalent to the Geforce 3 Ti200/550 series).

The 7500 is much better than the Geforce2MX series (as such we're ALSO talking about an MX, not a Ti--Ti being the performance version).

Thx for all the replies, they have been very helpfull. Also thanks to Solvs for helping my find drivers.

Also how much do you think my old GeForce MX/MX 400 32MB would go for?
I'm guessing 20 euros.
