So i just go a nMP with the D300 graphics cards and am experiencing random system freezes. These require a hard shutdown and reboot to clear the problem. Is this the issue that i have heard about with these cards? What are my choices for getting warranty work from ? The computer is may be one month old? Yes I will also search this forum but asking a direct question usually gets a better/faster answer. Thanks
You could post the Kernel Panic text here and that might be helpful. But at one month old you are under warranty and can call Apple Support or make an appointment at a Genius Bar.
I'm not in front of my Mac right now, so I can't remember the exact name of the location. But launch Console app and it should be in the "logs" or "diagnostic reports" or something. Look around in that app.

I would also strongly consider getting AppleCare+ for the nMP as well. That'll extend you out to 3 years, and if eventually D300 parts get hard to come by they could possibly swap you out. OP, where did you get the system? A quad core hasn't been sold new by Apple for a while now. Still can get them new/refurbished from B&H or OWC.
New from B&H $1K discount. I have a dead 6 core that I think the GPU's might still be good but will look at 1 year warranty if this continues.
I am not an expert, but indeed this appears to be graphics related. nMP does not have a great reputation for its graphics cards. I don't think this is a self-fix situation. Apple has an extended campaign for nMP GPUs that they are fixing outside of warranty. So even if you are out of warranty you might have them check out your older nMP as well.
The older nMP is dead because it sucked up a glass of water, my fault, and it killed the power supply. So far the SSD and memory from that machine are proved to be working in the new machine. So the GPU's I figure have a 50-50 shot at being okay, just have to try them out.
BTW they are on sale at B&H for $1899 at the moment - if you paid $1999 a month ago see if you can get a price adjustment, or if they won’t give you cash back maybe credit towards AppleCare.
So to interpret the report: A PCI DMA transfer of a block of memory, to the GPU, whose header was garbage caused a hardware panic. Most likely a bad or loose cable, but this is definitely hardware related. I have the nMP and it has been rock solid. Bring this in to Apple store and have them run diagnostics (but get the AppleCare first unless it is still in the warranty period).
