Just bought a 22 inch display running 1680x1050. Upgraded from 15 in.

Screen now seems to redraw slower. Methinks the graphics card may be the cause. Currently have a nvidia 5200 agp 128mb. Running on p4 2.6 w/ 768mb ram.

Now considering upgrading graphics card to 7600 to alleviate slowness in redrawing screen.

Good idea?

Not exactly regarding apple hardware, but...maybe more ram would help you. The powerbook I am on right now has 64mb vram, and runs my 22" LCD fine.

In a world crowded with video cards to choose from, the 5200 is not much to write home about...but I've used even older cards on a 20" screen (1680x1050) with no issues - it may not be the video card's fault, although 5200s with 128MB usually use slow, slow VRAM which may be the culprit. Get a 7600 or X1600.
