Well I have a natural Ti watch with graphite milanese loop and have no scratches. I swap it off my watch at least twice a day for a sport loop while walking.

I am amazed at the miss-information I am seeing here. DLC is absolutely the better coating and preferred whenever a coating colour like black is applied. The hope to 'not' have DLC is nuts. Every metal when rubbed against another metal, regardless of the type WILL 100% scratch as no coating is scratch-proof. I have worked in the luxury watch trade for a number of years and know this for a fact - in fact, it's common sense, isn't it?

PVD has a softer coating yes, and it will rub off more easily over time, which is not a good thing, compared to DLC. Either way, the stainless steel or Titanium underneath can scratch when rubbed against another strong material, regardless of the coating. You just need to ensure that rubbing doesn't occur by being careful. I hope this clears up the miss-information.

Any info about allergic reactions from PVD/DLC coatings?
