I have seen many people say the new graphite is slightly darker than last years this is not true, I compared them and it’s exactly the same, some photos show one darker as taking a shot of it changes hue at a slight angle, but anyone else who has both hold them over the top of each other it’s not hard to see they are the exactly the same, why people on here seem to think it’s darker is beyond me

Like the new phones having dimmer screens? That type of fake news?
I said sorry and changed the time; I was lying the store ones was darker but they are in demo mode, I said sorry because I jumped the gun but these dam colours are the same so don’t get why people are saying the new one is darker lol

In my expert professional opinion, the new one is definitely a little darker. I don’t make the rules.

Depends on your perspective, I was born at a lower latitude so I tend to be perceptive to shades of graphite
Totally agree. It also depends on the time of the year. So it may actually get lighter as we move into next year, it’s a completely new type of finish that Apple has created here.

Graphite has been used in pencils for millennia because of the unpredictable nature of its shade. The ancient greeks found this effect entertaining, but they were easily amused tbh

Wow. Might there be massive batch variations? I was tempted to post a thread somewhat facetiously titled “Is the 13 Pro Max the lightest iPhone ever?” because I just unboxed mine, upgrading from a 12 Pro Max graphite (or whatever the darkest colour was called last year). I just compared the two side by side and was surprised how much lighter my new 13PM is vs my current 12PM, it’s almost silver in comparison at least on the sides so much so that I had to check the box to be sure they had actually given me a graphite 13PM.

It is what it is but I really envy the Matt black regular 13. I wish Apple would cater to the pro customers who want a 2001 Space Odyssey monolith vibe.

Isn't the 13 same as the 12? If so its a glossy glass back and a smudge magnet.

Got mine today it’s a shade darker than my 12 pro max Graphite, enough to notice the diff.

Because it’s annoying people saying it’s a diff shade they need glasses as it’s the exact same colour now let’s just end this already it’s not a diffrent shade
"fake news"

People saying a shade of a colour on a phone is different is not fake news, you're making out like you're righting injustice or something.

Get a hobby or something and just enjoy the phone.

Whether it is or isn't, it's not going to impact your life or anyone else's in any way whatsoever.
