NO! I dont read Rolling Stone! What of my statement leads you to believe such a thing? I most likely have seen many more shows (GD and Phish) than you, so if you want to have a serious conversation about this subject, we can spark one up on the lot next month in Vegas. That is if you are even going. you sound like a typical salty Phish head who never saw Jerry, but still wants to believe that Phish is the greatest thing ever. Well, sorry to burst your bubble but compared to the GD, Phish is very small. you poor thing, you will never even know.

ok ok, calm down. It was a joke. My apologies. Rolling Stone has gotten so inundated with the crap that's on radio that it gives better reviews to Justin Timberlake than the Dead, or Phish, or some other band that actually knows how to play music. I think you and I agree on that.

I'll be at Vegas. We can discuss more there.

and by the vault you mean the vault?

Yes, there is a large quantity of live dead on the internet, for free, and not to mention the volume of material the band puts out on a regular basis.. the dicks pics, one from the vault, two from the vault.. ladies and gentleman..etcetc, but its all going to be in one place... saving many hours of searching for a particular show from multiple site's, and saving the fustration experianced when you do find that particular show yoou've been looking for, only to find it of horrible sound quality, incomplete, or other catastrophe.

My opinion: its about damn time!!

I agree, it will be great to have the entire catalog in one place. I get most of my live dead tapers that post shows on the internet. I also buy from the itunes music store. I have no problem buying the same music I used to get for free. Especially considering it will be from soundboard as opposed to a taper (not that they do a bad job) but the stuff from the vault has to be better quality. Does anyone know when this is supposed to happen?

now only if downloads could be >128kbps...

i'm all for iTunes, but i can get new CD's at best buy on new-music-tuesdays for $7.99 a piece. then i can rip them however i see fit.

you can do better than that. I buy used cds (~$2 to $8 each), rip them, and then sell them back to the same store. the cycle of music never ends.
