I just put a Photodon MXH screen protector on my iPad Pro and I love it. I thought I would share it with you guys and girls, in case someone is thinking of getting something like that. First of all, I want to say two things - one, I am in no way affiliated with Photodon, just a happy customer (I use the same MXH screen protector on my Wacom CC2) and second, I don't usually use screen protectors on my Apple devices. I never had issues with scratches and I don't think you need a screen protector on your iPhone, iPad, etc. for scratch protection (Cintiq is a different story as it has a similar, factory installed screen protector that does scratch, so I put an extra one on top, but that's a story for a another time).

The reason I got one for the Pro is for the surface feel when drawing. Now, there are several types of screen protectors, but for stylus work (any hard-tip stylus, really), you need a matt one (glossy ones are actually worse than regular glass for stylus movement). The problem with matt screen protectors is that they create a grain effect on the image. One other problem is that they add another layer that can potentially increase the parallax effect. So I was afraid I would ruin the iPad Pro's beautiful picture and also increase the otherwise amazingly small parallax.

I still got it, and it turned out to be a really great decision. First of all - the MXH is only 25% matt (or Anti-Glare as they call it). While I can see slight grain on white backgrounds, the image is surprisingly sharp and clear and it still has that premium glass look. Second, the protector is really thin and there is no perceivable difference when it comes to the parallax effect. So, basically - no real downsides.

What about benefits? Well, first of all - and the main reason I got it - the drawing/writing with the Pencil is more realistic now. I have better control and it just feels better. It's not a drastic difference - for anything more than that you'd need a screen protector that is more matt, but it's just enough to make drawing and writing more pleasant. It really feels great. Second benefit - one that I did not expect - is reduced fingerprint remains. Out of all Apple devices I owned, the iPad Pro is by far the worst fingerprint magnet I ever saw. It's a smudgy, mushy mess even after recent cleaning - and the prints can be seen even when the screen is on (on light backgrounds). With the screen protector, the fingerprints are never seen when the screen is on, and they can be cleaned easily.

And, as an added bonus, the glare is reduced and the screen is more protected (even though I think it doesn't need the extra protection, but hey, why not). There are quite a few options, but for this one I can vouch that it works just as you would want it to for Pencil work. For those not using the Pencil often, I still recommend going naked :)

Here is the link if anyone is interested: http://www.photodon.com/p/4011-01.htm. If you do order it, make sure you choose the MXH, and not any of the 'clear' options. Again, not affiliated with them, just an experience I wanted to share.
