Green bubble text for iPhone user

I am starting a group text with three other people, all on iPhones. when I message them individually or any combination of two of them, they are all blue bubbles, but for the three of them together it is green, and one of the names in the "To:" section changes to red. If I add a 4th person, back to all blue.

I am guessing there is something stuck in a cache somewhere that thinks this specific group of 3 is an SMS message, but I don't know how to force it back to normal.

Any suggestions as to how I can get this group text back to normal?

Try this;

Settings > Messages > iMessage (toggle it off then back on).

Unfortunately does not help, but I think that’s on the right track. There must be something stuck that needs to be flushed out or reset. Since it’s across all my devices, I am guessing it must be iCloud related.

Could just be that the green bubble txt means that at that time the user doesn't have internet / intermittent internet?

When I text them individually it's blue, it's only when i text the group that it turns green.

I figured this out. The user had an incorrect setting on their end.
