Speaking of drifiting... have you ever seen 'Climb Dance'??? :D

the footage of walter röhrl dancing on the pedals driving up pikes peak ?

still amazing that he beat the prior record when driving up there on his first try without training run

If this car does go into production, I may have to get one (seriously). I am not a huge fan of the styling, but I do like it better then the MK-V VW Golf.

I like it...like iGAV said the grille is probably the most succesful interpretation of Audis' current look. From the head-on view it reminds me of a Maserati Quattroporte that opened its mouth a bit wider. :D

I actually like the new golf quite a bit - but the same can't be said for the Jetta. Somehow the styling looks good on a hatchback but wrong on a sedan. And that chrome grille surround looks worse than the black plastic one on GTI I saw on Top Gear.

Close... it was Ari Vatenen. :)

I can't claim it as mine, however I am the admin, and currently (this will hopefully change soon) the only person posting articles. This site is setup, and run by a group of friends I have.

Cool. ;) :) I've been having a moochy around. :D

That's what I was also thinking upon first glimpse of the picture. I love the interior, and could get used to the side profile over time. It actually reminds me of a Clio V6 from the side and back, which isn't a bad thing, as I like that car as well :).

Hopefully it'll handle a little better than a Clio V6... oversteer that could age you in an instant. *shudders*

well then the walter röhrl footage was from another rallye ;)

Oh no, it's from Pikes Peak, it's just not Climb Dance. ;)

his quotes are still somehow priceless... like calling the 911 cabrio "a nice car for a woman"

:p :p :p :p :p

Thanks for looking around. The site is a best effort, and is put together for fun.

On the Clio, I don't think I will ever get to drive one, as they are not "Federalized" in the US :( . I have been able to drive a UK spec VW GTI 2.0t. It was actually quite fun, and I was able to drive it in an Autocross setting :) .

RHD is strange to me, It was odd shifting with my Left hand ;) .

Speaking of audi,

Here is an article wrote on the Shooting Brake concept, it isn't professional and sure to have some errors, but I don't do it for money :)

If the R8 looks like the LM or Nuvolari Quattro I am going to be drooling allot. I got to see the LM Quattro at NAIAS during one of my media trips. Great looking car!

That does not look like an audi.

The R8 looks cool on the outside, by the interior looks a little strange.

My girlfriend has 4.2L Audi A6. It is an awesome car. Very fast and fun to drive.

I've been drooling over the Clio V6 for a while, ever since I used it (modified a bit, mostly engine/tranny) in Forza Motorsport to win a race. (25 laps of New York II, for those who know it). I was 25 seconds ahead of the GTO. The trick is to bump a bit with the STi at the first corner, so he wiggles and back off, lest he (it?) nail the wall.

RHD is strange to me, It was odd shifting with my Left hand ;) .
I'm sure I'd suck at it.

Ohhh. Yum. I've been following this car since it debuted as the Le Mans prototype. I read in a magazine a few weeks ago it was going to be called the R9 though. Calling it the R9 makes more sense to me, as the other R and S models have similar bodies to there A counterparts.

I will have to find the pictures I took of it at Detroit in 2004 I believe. I had the Audi rep open the engine compartment, and I took some shots of that, and the interior.

I will have to dig up the pictures and post them. I am SOOOO looking forward to NAIAS 2006 now, I hope the R8 Lemans, or whatever is at the show in a pre-production form.

Last year they unveiled a new style Allroad concept, and I actually liked it! I took the following pictures at the Press conference last year. We usually setup our cameras and seats an hour before the press conference for both Audi and VW. Last year we did this for Audi, BMW, Porsche, and VW. Lots of work, but thankfully their are 4 of us :)

I will keep you all posted on what is unveiled at Detroit this year for Audi BMW and VW :). Our little group tries hard to beat out the big media groups with pictures and news for the press conferences at the show. We aren't always first, but we have beat VWVortex and Fortitude in past years :) And they usually just post the Press release the first day, not real articles :).

Who can I IM during that weekend in January to post up links on Macrumors :)

I actually have a website which was linked in this thread, and is in my signature. What I would be looking for is someone to post up links to Detroit Auto Show articles we post, but there is no need for this, since we are mostly all using OS X, and have RSS equipped browsers.

I will simply post up a link to our RSS feed for Detroit before the press days, and everyone can just check that. I would also like to (if possible) have a thread to allow people to ask questions in regards to topics they are interested in (within reason). But all of this is months away in January.

< / Hijack >

I have found my pictures on the LM Quattro (R8?) from last year. I will try to upload the images to the web server and post up the pictures sometime soon :)

Having driven one I can understand why... :p I'm surprised they were allowed out of the factory actually  :p

The Mk I V6 Clio had a reputation of slinging you off the road, there's many a story in the UK motoring press about journalists smacking them up left, right and centre.

If you've ever driven a 1980's 911 (a non turbo one) hard then you know what to expect with the Clio V6... 2 hands on the wheel are required ALL of the time. :p

Renault softened it up for the Mk II version though... much like Audi did to the TT which had a similar reputation when it was first released.

Even now, I still don't understand why the Clio V6 is so knife edge when it's a mid-engine car.

I can safely say that in a Clio V6, that'll be the least of your worries. heheh

Until you mentioned Forza Motorsport... (and I remembered what that was) I was seriously impressed fella. :p

I love the new Allroad, I loved the old one too. I think my only criticism of the design at the time of it's launch, was the lack of protective plastic in comparison to the out going model... in a mixed utility vehicle like the Allroad, the extensive use of plastic is an unanswerable boon.

Alright! I guess you have it all figured out. Two thumps up from me ass well for that thread.

Want a ride in my 200+MPH Miata? :D How about my 750+HP 360? I can't even get that thing to top speed on the high speed oval, as there's not enough downforce for the corners, and 6th gear is really tall. Nothing like a turbo Ferrari V8. :D
