I tried to open it on Mac OS 10.5 and all it did was crash. I may use my wife's computer to do it..

What issues did you have? I used Limerain for OSX a couple of days ago (my first jailbreak) and worked fine - was actually surprised by how easy it was 🙂

Only issue i have with the jailbreak at all was that the Terminal app wouldn't work, which meant a bit of faff to change the default passwords. Cydia also seems very slow. But for the two things i needed (prevent the iPod app being disabled when i connect it to my in-car adapter, and allow bluetooth GPS) worked perfect!

Definitely was because I had too old of an OS on my iBook... I used my wife's Macbook Pro on 10.6 and had no problems.

you have to use tiny Umbrella for now to keep baseband it's pretty simple. (google it) You can also wait for PwnageTool 4.1 to be released which should be soon!
