Greenpois0n or Limera1n?

If I am LR jailbreak and wanna try GP bc I am bored, do I have to restore or can I just install GP over LR? Does GP give you a different logo when device kicks on?
 
I'm already restoring my iPhone and I'm going to re-jailbreak via Greenpois0n.

I successfully jailbroke via limera1n yesterday and everything appeared to run smooth. I restarted the phone multiple times while downloading apps via Cydia. Well the jailbreak ****ed with my clock and I woke up an hour later for class today. Another restart fixed it. Don't want anything like that to happen again.
 
You know I've been a Geohot follower for quite some time, everyone hates on what they don't understand, and his genius is beyond that of our contemplation. I will be using his Jailbreak because I have always loved his work, however was a little upset about comex owning the untethered world... regardless both are great at what they do...

I will make one suggestion to Geohot... change that website LOL looks so amateur! hahaha

also the install icons resolution is horrible ... LOL its the small things hahah
 
for me i thought limera1n was GOOOD but then couldnt get the push notifications to work, even with push fix, push doctor, limera1n push fix...nothing worked so i restored 4.1 n rejailbroke with greenpoison...no issues at all at this point...hopefully i didnt jinx it, knock on wood...lol

is this a common isue with limera1n?
 
Personally, like someone said a few posts back, I could give a damn who developed the jailbreak, even if they stole the idea from someone else, as long as it jailbreaks all the devices i need jailbroken with minimal to no bugs. I'm not loyal to any of those developers heh, I do appreciate the work though, I might even donate $20 or so.
 
I tried Limera1n last night and it sent my iphone 4 into an endless reboot cycle and I had to restore it... I will try greenpoison later this afternoon.
btw i had problems with blackra1n on my 3gs when it came out.. geohot my be good but he is sloppy i suppose.
 
Didn't have much problems with Limera1n, just some minor bugs like Cydia not getting installed before a reboot and iPod touch stuck rebooting after erasing all contents and settings(shouldn't do that with a JBed device). Jailbroke my replacement iPT with Greenpois0n yesterday(the steps were confusing than limera1n) and experienced Cydia freezing (and iPT crashing), iPT crashing after Facebook video upload, but it seems the location services is working with OpenSSH on Greenpois0n, don't know if the OpenSSH is updated or Limera1n had a problem with it.
 
If i were to use one, i'd pick Greenpois0n over limera1n. However, i just wait and use Pwnage Tool. I trust the iPhone Dev team over Chr0nic, and especially Geohot.

this is indeed my first post..I have some few basic doubts.

What are the disadvantages/risks in jailbreak.

I have brought an new iphone4 without any contract and now using 'three' carrier sim.

will jailbreak affect any of these.

what are the precaution steps in need to take before jailbreak.

I think i have asked too many questions.
but since i'm new to this,an little bit of info will be of gr8 help for me..

On a new phone where you have nothing to backup, there is no risk at all in jailbreaking it. If a software issue arises, you can always restore it back to default software and it will be the latest version. The latest software is currently jailbroken thanks to Green Poison and the Dev teams in general.
 
For an unlocked Iphone running version 4.0.2 which is the best out there that has the least problems? Better to use a Windows based OS or MAC OS to jailbreak as well:confused:
 
I jailbroke with Limera1n but seemed to have a battery drain issue and phone seemed slow so I restored the phone and tried to use greenpoisi0n and I can't get it to work I have done it about 10 times and it fails everytime has anyone elese had the same problem and got it to work
