Well said CowArt! The goal is scientific research, but the competition and points are what makes it exciting in the beginning. As time goes on, that aspect becomes less alluring, but it still can be fun to see the team's fortunes rise and fall.

Hope I can help. I just started folding on my G4 800 iMac 24/7, and on my G4 1.33 PB about 16 hours a day. Probably won't turn back the tide  but every little bit helps.

We will see. It's best to not count your chickens before they hatch. Nothing is for sure. The important thing as always is the we are helping for research.

Hey, we pushed you back a day in the last 3 days...so there. :p

I feel much better now Rower_CPU, thank you. This is good news, let it continue. ;)

It looks like they're due to overtake us tomorrow still, but it doesn't mean that it's finished.

LittleWhiteDog and The Knights Who Say Ni! were pushed back eventually.

Still, I'd like to see all 30,000+ members fold at once. That would certainly create some cow pies. :D

my pb 1.33 12" is maxed on folding and adding my emac 1.25 tonight. Any thing special about 2 computers on the same broadband acct?

This folding is making my arms tired. I'm at 88% on p874 as of now, and everything but safari and mail is off, killed seti for now too. no sleep except for hard drive and monitor..........it is getting warm in here! :)

Eh, no. A packet is downloaded, folded, and sent back. Not much up/down loading.

If anyone can tell me how to get a WinXP computer to auto run the F@H scripts right on startup, that would be very nice. I have a computer in the house that would do well at that, but I'm not always around to start up the scripts. And I don't want the screen-saver version... terminal-style will do.

Can anyone do that?

eMac is on line with FAH, working on p1139!

I forgot to add my times are based on using the gui not terminal, not comfy in that yet.

I guess I didn't phrase that question well, I was meaning more for credit than bandwidth.

Yep, you sure can. Just copy a shortcut to the F@H application (the one that runs in the terminal) to... I think... "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users (or Owner)\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\" and it should start every time you start your computer.

You might want to check out a program called HideIt (sorry, cant find a link right now), it's the best application I've found to hide running applications from the taskbar.

There is a way to run it as a service so you don't have to be logged into Windows to run it. The instructions are floating around the forum.

Ok. I guess the search didn't quite work out....
Thanks!
(3.0 GHz HT coming our way :D)

For running F@H as a service on win-machines, you need the console-version of the client. If you already have that one running, stop it, and run it again with the -configonly flag. The third config-question will be:
Launch automatically at machine startup, installing this as a
service (yes/no) [no]?
Answer should be yes, obviously...

After that you can either manually start the service, or reboot the computer, and F@H will run as a service! :)

According to the Team Stats we just passed you!

Congrats - we've got a shot to leapfrog back in front at the next check-in, but you've definitely got our top 20 position.

Now stop spamming the smilies. :p

I have confidence that we can regain our position Rower_CPU. It wouldn't be possible without your very capable leadership. :)
