The new grey looks nice; however, my concern is it will show up scratches.

With the silver, scratches aren't to bad as aluminum is silver in color; but with the grey, a deep enough scratch will go beyond the grey color and really show up.

Anyone get a scratch on the grey one yet?

Had a space gray 12" MacBook for six months that looked brand new when I sold it. Even my iPad Pro and old iPhone 6 Plus looked new. I carry my stuff without cases

Scuffs and scratches on space grey definitely show up more clearly than on silver. But YMMV.

Anodized surfaces are very hard and durable, but not indestructible and are subject to wear. It's still just a coating. Scratch, nick, etc. and the natural aluminum will show through.

Natural aluminum surface till look the same with scratches or wear.

Pays your money you takes your chances.

I have trouble plugging into the USB-C slots, I'm always scraping the edges with the connectors. So far no scratches, surprisingly.

No wear or tear on my space grey yet. No finger print or smudges either, to me it's wearing just as unnoticeably as my old silver macbook pro.
